Confusion as man dies during Tarawiy prayer

There was confusion in Okelele community of Ilorin East local Government Area of Kwara state following the death of a secondary school principal during Tarawiyh Ramadan prayer on Wednesday night.
The incident happened at Asude area of the community when the school principal, Mr Hassan Alabi, was prostrating during the prayer, but could not stand up causing pandemonium in the congregation.
Speaking with journalists on the incident, some members of the congregation said they were expecting the aged man to stand up from his prostrating position, but they were confused that he could not get up again.
Daily Trust gathered that the confusion that ensued brought the prayer to an abrupt end as members of the congregation struggled to bring the school principal back to life.
Some elders of the community who later took the body of the deceased to his house were said to have expressed optimism that the late school administrator would regain consciousness but it later dawned on them that he had died.
His remains have since been buried according to Islamic rites at about 8.00 am yesterday.
Imam of the mosque, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oriire who performed the burial rites admonished all to be conscious always of their deeds, saying no one knows when or where death would meet them.
