Maid burns boss’ private parts in attempted rape

27-year-old man is admitted to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital, nursing his private parts that were burnt by the house help whom he allegedly attempted to rape.
It is alleged that the minor poured hot water on his private parts as he attempted to overpower her in the kitchen.
The suspect, a resident of Pece Division in Gulu Municipality was allegedly attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl who has been helping him in the home close to a year. The suspect’s wife is said to be in Juba where she is doing business.
The minor who sleeps in the kitchen which also doubles as her bedroom says the man has been following her up, especially in the wee hours of the morning demanding for sex. However, on the fateful day, he came back at about 9pm and allegedly demanded for sex from the minor and when she refused, he was slapped.
“When he slapped me, he left the kitchen went to the big house and asked for bathing water and when I did not respond, he came back wrapped himself in the towel, pushed me down and in the process I grabbed the water that was boiling on the charcoal stove and poured it on him,” she said adding that she acted in self-defence.
The minor says she reported the matter to the landlord who advised her to sleep with the neighbours, but for fear of the home utensils being stolen, she remained in the kitchen. “I slept at the neighbourhood twice but I feared that thieves would steal our properties so I decided to come back to my room,” she said.
Denied
The suspect has, however, denied the allegations saying he asked the girl to get him bathing water and when she refused, he slapped her. “When I slapped her for refusing to get for me water to take the bath, in retaliation she poured water on my private parts,” the suspect said.
Mr Richard Odong Ogang, the Vanguard Parish defence secretary, said the suspect has been advised several times to live the young girl alone.
The landlady had earlier informed the local authorities to get involved after her interventions could not yield much. The northern region police spokesperson, Mr Patrick Okema, said: “We have recorded both of their statements and if proved, the victim will be charged with attempted rape.”
